Brittany Mahomes seems to face criticism no matter her intentions.
The Kansas City Chiefs WAG is facing backlash online following a post she made in response to the shooting incident that marred the end of the Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday.
The shooting resulted in the tragic death of one mother of two and left 22 others injured, including several children.
Taking to her Instagram story, Brittany, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, expressed her feelings of embarrassment and disappointment regarding the situation.
“Highly embarrassed and disappointed in this, Super Bowl wins will never be the same because of this, it’s devastating,” she wrote. “Lives lost and people injured during something that was supposed to be a celebration. Horrible and traumatizing. So many prayers going to the families involved.”
While Brittany offered condolences to the affected families, her choice of words has drawn criticism from fans who feel she prioritized the potential impact on Super Bowl celebrations over the loss of life and injuries.

Some criticized her for appearing more concerned about the Super Bowl’s reputation than the tragic loss of life and injuries. One Reddit user commented, “She says she’s embarrassed?! And that it will ruin super bowls? Those are the first things from her mouth? She’s not smart and she’s a narcissist.”
The Chiefs quarterback, along with teammate Travis Kelce, has also faced criticism for going out to dinner in Kansas City shortly after the shooting. Kelce particularly received backlash for posing for a smiling selfie with a police officer, which many found inappropriate given the circumstances.
