Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, found himself in a heated confrontation with the owner of Dragon Pizza in Somerville, Massachusetts, during one of his signature pizza reviews for his “One Bite” series.
Portnoy, known for his one-bite pizza reviews, sampled a slice from Dragon Pizza and gave it a rating of 6.4 out of 10, describing it as a “floppy mess” and declaring, “This pizza is trash.”
This negative assessment prompted the owner of Dragon Pizza to confront Portnoy, expressing his displeasure at being judged based on one bite.

Portnoy’s “One Bite” pizza reviews have garnered a large following, with nearly 1 million subscribers on YouTube.
The incident occurred shortly after Portnoy announced layoffs at Barstool Sports, a company he recently reacquired for $1 from Penn Entertainment.
Portnoy expressed his discomfort with the layoffs, stating that he generally dislikes firing people but the cuts were necessary for the company’s financial health.
Portnoy founded Barstool Sports in 2003 and sold a majority stake to The Chernin Group in 2016.
Earlier this year, Penn Entertainment completed its acquisition of Barstool for a total of $551 million.
