Former U.S. men’s national team star Eric Wynalda finds himself entangled in a battery report following a contentious soccer altercation involving a teenager, as reported by TMZ.
According to the Las Vegas police report obtained by TMZ, Wynalda, who was coaching his son’s club team at the time, is accused of directing derogatory remarks towards a player from an opposing team, including calling him a “bitch” and insulting his mother.
The teenager informed the police that he pushed Wynalda in response, resulting in a physical altercation.
He sustained a scratch during the altercation but was unsure of who inflicted it, as per TMZ’s report.
According to sources cited by TMZ, the incident escalated after a hard foul on Wynalda’s son, prompting a parent to call 911 and report the altercation.

The foul resulted in Wynalda’s son being sidelined for the remainder of the game, contributing to the heightened tensions on the field.
A TMZ video depicts Wynalda’s son being struck as he kicked the ball and subsequently fell to the ground.
Following this incident, the opposing player reportedly initiated verbal confrontation by trash-talking Wynalda, as reported by TMZ.
Another video of the incident, published Monday by the outlet, captured Wynalda, dressed in a black and white tracksuit with a black cap, apparently interacting with an opposing player in a red jersey.
In the video, the player in the red jersey pointed at Wynalda and approached him while appearing to speak.
Wynalda then glanced towards the field and gestured with his hands in a “What?” expression.
Subsequently, another player in a red jersey approached Wynalda with a similar hand gesture and pushed the former USMNT star.
As the original opposing player approached Wynalda, the former USMNT star backed up, with the referee intervening in an attempt to calm the situation.
Meanwhile, a player from Wynalda’s team rushed towards the player who had pushed Wynalda.
Tensions escalated as players from both teams converged in one direction, leading to a skirmish.
In the midst of the chaos, the player who initially engaged Wynalda in the video threw a ball at Wynalda’s face.
Wynalda’s representatives opted not to provide a comment to TMZ regarding the incident.
Eric Wynalda, aged 54, boasts an illustrious soccer career and holds a place in the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
