The debate shows are generating controversy, just as intended.
Recently, Colts owner Jim Irsay was featured on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, and a particular segment has gained significant attention. During an interview with correspondent Andrea Kremer, Irsay discussed his battle with addiction and alcoholism, including his widely publicized 2014 arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. He attributed his arrest, in part, to feeling “prejudiced against” as a “rich, white billionaire.”
Irsay asserted that his difficulty walking during the encounter with Indiana police was due to recent hip surgery, not painkillers. He eventually pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in September 2014.

This comment by Irsay became a focal point of discussion on ESPN’s First Take, where Stephen A. Smith, Kimberley A. Martin, and Molly Qerim sharply criticized the Colts owner.
In response, on Wednesday night, Irsay fired back with threats of a lawsuit and personally attacked Martin.
However, ESPN’s First Take co-host Kimberley A. Martin delivered a clever and succinct response. Firstly, she corrected Irsay’s grammar on the “Nothing Burger” insult with a simple one-word comment, “You’re.”
Additionally, Martin updated her Twitter bio to read, “Woman that preceded Stephen A.”
It’s a clever and smart comeback from Martin in the face of the personal attacks.
