Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley may have jeopardized his potential future in sports media.
According to reports, ESPN has issued a ban on Beverley, the veteran NBA guard, preventing him from making any guest appearances on their shows.
During his postgame interview after Thursday night’s NBA Playoffs game, Beverley engaged in a heated exchange with ESPN producer Malinda Adams.
This altercation stemmed from Beverley’s attempt to exclude Adams from the media scrum because she doesn’t follow his podcast.
Beverley persistently insisted on her departure from the circle and even pushed away her ESPN microphone multiple times.
Patrick Beverly tells female reporter from ESPN that she cannot interview him since she doesn’t subscribe to his podcast.
Adams, the ESPN producer, has issued a statement in response to Beverley’s actions.
She revealed that the Bucks guard personally called her to apologize, and the Bucks organization also extended their apologies.
Adams has accepted the apology and is choosing to move forward from the incident.
I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support. I am humbled. Patrick Beverley just called me and apologized. I appreciate it and accept it. The Bucks also reached out to apologize. I’ve been in news for over 40 years and kindness and grace always win.
Beverley had a busy night as this incident came after he repeatedly threw a basketball at Indiana Pacers fans towards the end of the Bucks playoff elimination loss to the Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The NBA will very likely issue a suspension for Beverley regarding both incidents.
