The Heat isn’t on?
Despite the high stakes of their Friday night play-in game against the Chicago Bulls, the Miami Heat faced a less than full house, an unusual sight for such a critical matchup.
During ESPN’s halftime show, Kendrick Perkins expressed his disappointment over the attendance. “It’s win or go home. I’m just a little disappointed in the fan base of the Miami Heat,” Perkins remarked, noting the visible empty seats.
Michael Wilbon, a veteran ESPN personality, also weighed in, labeling Heat fans as “front-runners” and criticizing their lack of consistent support. “That’s not a great fanbase at all. They’re front-runners,” Wilbon commented.

These critical remarks quickly caught fire on social media, resonating with many who shared similar sentiments about the Heat’s fan base.
Despite the disappointing turnout, the Heat delivered a strong performance on the court. Tyler Herro was particularly impressive, almost achieving a triple-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. Jaime Jaquez also stood out, contributing 21 points to the team’s victory.
The Heat now advance to face the Celtics in the first round of the playoffs, with Game 1 scheduled for 1 p.m. ET this Sunday. The series will return to Miami for Game 3 next Saturday, offering local fans another chance to show their support.
