Erin Andrews is taking the 2024 NFL season one day at a time, fully aware that it could be her last with Fox Sports. The veteran NFL sideline reporter, who has been a fixture in the league for years, has made it clear that she’s embracing every moment on the job as her contract with Fox Sports is set to expire at the end of the season.
Andrews spoke candidly about her mindset during the latest episode of her podcast Calm Down with co-host and fellow Fox Sports personality Charissa Thompson. “I think my goal is always kind of the same as last year: enjoy it, because it’s not going to last forever, especially when your contract is up — and mine is,” she said with a laugh, acknowledging the uncertainty of her future with the network.
Although she quietly re-signed with Fox on a three-year deal in July 2022, that contract will run out at the end of the 2024 season, meaning Andrews will be a free agent heading into 2025 unless she inks a new deal with the network. Thompson, who hosts Fox NFL Kickoff and also covers Thursday Night Football for Amazon, teased Andrews about the situation, saying, “Contract year, huge!” Andrews agreed, laughing about the pressure of a contract year, election year, and everything else happening in her life.
Despite the looming uncertainty, Andrews remains focused on doing what she loves — covering the NFL from the sidelines.

But as much as she loves the job, she admitted that preparation is something she’s constantly working on, especially as she heads into game day. “I feel like I’m always so panicked leading up to an hour before [game day],” Andrews said. “I’m trying to recite some of [the information] and have it in my mind so it’s easy to say, which I’m not doing a good job of right now. So, I always feel prep is a thing I’m always trying to be really good about.”
Andrews has been a vital part of Fox Sports’ NFL coverage since she joined the network in 2012, following her high-profile stint with ESPN. She’s covered numerous high-profile games, including Super Bowls, and currently works alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady, who made his debut as Fox’s lead NFL analyst this season. Brady, who signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox in 2022, replaced Greg Olsen as the network’s No. 1 analyst. Olsen has since moved to the No. 2 broadcast team alongside Joe Davis.
While Andrews is a mainstay in Fox Sports’ NFL broadcasts, she acknowledged on a recent Calm Down podcast episode that she’s been struggling to find her rhythm early in the 2024 season. “I was having trouble getting into my groove,” she admitted, referring to her work on the sidelines during the first few weeks of the season.
Andrews’ relationship with Fox Sports is one she clearly cherishes. In past interviews, she’s been open about how much she enjoys working for the network and her connection to the team. However, with her contract expiring and the sports media landscape constantly shifting, there’s no telling where she might end up in 2025.
As of now, Fox Sports is scheduled to air Super Bowl 2025 from New Orleans, which could be a fitting finale if Andrews decides not to return.
For now, though, Andrews is focused on making the most of this season, navigating the pressure of a contract year, and doing what she does best — delivering top-notch NFL coverage to fans across the country.
