Enes Kanter Freedom has claimed that he has been excluded from the NBA due to his outspoken views on geopolitical issues, particularly China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims.
In a recent statement about transgender athletes’ participation in women’s sports, he made a point by suggesting that men should not be involved in women’s spaces such as restrooms, locker rooms, or sports.
He questioned whether he should don a wig, identify as a woman, and dominate the WNBA to highlight the potential unfairness of this situation.
Men don’t belong in women’s spaces.
Restrooms – Locker Rooms or Sports.Since I’m blackballed from the @NBA, should I put on a wig, identify as a woman and start dominating the @WNBA?
Is that when the outrage will begin?
Is that fair to all the women who spent their whole life…— Enes FREEDOM (@EnesFreedom) August 11, 2023
Freedom, who played 11 seasons in the NBA, has put up impressive statistics in his career.
The inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports has sparked controversy since Lia Thomas, a transgender woman, won NCAA Championships in 2022 as a member of the University of Pennsylvania women’s swim team.
Many prominent athletes, including Martina Navratilova, Inga Thompson, Riley Gaines, and Paula Scanlan, have voiced their concerns about transgender women competing against biological females.
Organizations such as Union Cycliste Internationale, British Rowling, and World Athletics have implemented new regulations to address this issue, including the creation of open categories.
