While the Kansas City Chiefs boast Taylor Swift among their supporters, the Detroit Lions can count on Eminem.
The 51-year-old rapper, Marshall Mathers, witnessed the Lions’ 34-31 loss to the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday. Despite the defeat, Eminem expressed pride in the Lions, thanking them for an amazing season and reassuring fans that they’ll be back.
“So proud of the Lions,” he posted on “X,” the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Thanks for an amazing season! We’ll be back!”
Growing up near Detroit, Eminem has been a dedicated Lions fan. Decked out in Lions gear during the game, including a T-shirt and hat, he went viral when it appeared he was gesturing with two middle fingers at a group of 49ers fans.
The 49ers made a comeback in the NFC championship game, scoring 17 points in the third quarter to tie the game and securing a rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. The Lions fell short once again, leaving the franchise dreaming of a title that has eluded them since the 1957 season.
