Eminem has a special request for Matthew Stafford: Cut the Detroit Lions some slack.
In a video released on Saturday, the Detroit rapper, sporting a Barry Sanders hoodie, implored the Los Angeles Rams quarterback to grant the Lions a win in their upcoming face-off. The plea comes as the Lions prepare to play their first home playoff game in 30 years at Ford Field, facing the Rams in the initial round of the NFL playoffs.
In the video shared on social media by NBC’s Sunday Night Football account, Eminem emphasized the favor he believed Stafford owed him. Referencing his halftime performance at Super Bowl LVI alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige, where the Rams, led by Stafford, secured a victory against the Cincinnati Bengals, Eminem humorously reminded Stafford of his past support.
“Stafford, what’d I say? You owe me this favor bro. I was there for you when you won it. I was right there. I rapped for you, Stafford! Bro, I rapped for you!”
Eminem, a devoted Lions fan, had previously visited the team’s training camp in 2022 and attended a game at Ford Field to watch the Lions take on the Carolina Panthers in October.
The highly anticipated Lions vs. Rams game is scheduled for an 8:15 p.m. kickoff on Sunday and will be broadcast on NBC.
