Jayson Tatum has plenty to celebrate—he’s now a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a proud father of two!
After leading the Team USA men’s basketball team to victory against France in the Paris Olympics finals on Saturday, the Boston Celtics star and his girlfriend, singer Ella Mai, introduced their newborn baby in a heartwarming family photo shoot.
In a video shared online, Tatum, 26, is seen celebrating his big win with his loved ones, including Mai, 29, who is holding the couple’s newborn. The joyous moment also featured Tatum’s mother, grandmother, and his eldest son, Jayson “Deuce” Tatum Jr., whom he shares with his high school girlfriend, Toriah Lachell. The proud father posed for solo shots with Deuce, while Mai cradled their infant, completing the perfect family portrait.

Despite the public nature of Tatum’s career, the couple has managed to keep their personal life, including Mai’s pregnancy, remarkably private. In fact, fans were unaware that the “Boo’d Up” singer was expecting until she revealed her baby bump during the celebrations for Tatum’s 2024 NBA Finals victory in June. Their ability to keep such significant news under wraps speaks to the couple’s preference for a low-key, private lifestyle.
Tatum and Mai’s relationship dates back to 2019 when rumors of their romance first surfaced after Mai was spotted sitting courtside at one of his games. However, the couple has remained tight-lipped about their relationship, opting to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight.
During a 2022 interview on “The Breakfast Club,” Mai skillfully dodged questions about her relationship with Tatum. When co-host DJ Envy hinted at her possible connection to the Boston Celtics star by saying, “There’s rumors that you’re a Boston Celtics fan,” Mai responded playfully, “Oh really?”
Envy pressed further, asking, “They say you’re a Boston Celtics fan and possibly dating a Boston Celtic. Is there any truth to that?” Mai remained coy, replying, “I’m a basketball fan, definitely, but you know, I’m not one to talk about my dating life.”
The couple eventually made their relationship public in July 2022, when they attended Michael Rubin’s annual Fourth of July White Party in the Hamptons together, marking their first official public appearance as a couple.
As Jayson Tatum continues to shine on the court, his growing family is clearly a source of pride and joy for the NBA star.
With two children now in his life and an Olympic gold medal to add to his accolades, Tatum’s achievements extend well beyond basketball, reflecting a fulfilling personal life shared with his partner, Ella Mai.
