Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58, Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox didn’t hold back in teasing 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel on social media.
Despite Samuel playing through a concerning hamstring issue during the game, Cox didn’t show any mercy in his jests. Taking to Instagram after the 25-22 defeat, Cox humorously wrote on his story, “Keep the Eagles out cho mouth Boe,” while tagging Samuel. He continued, “I still got some you ain’t got. Ya!! I be holding this one in son!!!!!”
It’s worth noting that the Eagles bested the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game the previous year but fell short to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Cox, however, has already tasted championship glory with the Eagles, having contributed to their victory over the Patriots in 2018.

A budding rivalry between the Eagles and the 49ers seems to be brewing in the NFC, although Samuel attempted to downplay it in a Super Bowl week interview. “I consider rivalries close games. We ain’t going to talk about that no more. That’s over with,” he remarked.
In their most recent encounter, the 49ers dominated the Eagles in a lopsided 42-19 victory. Samuel notably made significant contributions, scoring three touchdowns during the game—two receptions and one rushing touchdown.
