The Cameron Crazies lived up to their name.
On Saturday night, in the latest installment of the historic Tobacco Road rivalry, No. 7 North Carolina secured a significant victory over No. 9 Duke on the road, clinching sole possession of the ACC regular-season title. However, the post-game atmosphere took an unfortunate turn.
Following their hard-fought 84–79 win, Tar Heels players celebrated in front of Duke’s passionate student section, known as the Cameron Crazies. The jubilation quickly soured as some fans responded by throwing drinks at the UNC players. Security personnel were seen intervening to identify those responsible for the unruly behavior.

In a video captured after the game, Duke coach Jon Scheyer was heard apologizing to disappointed Blue Devils fans for falling short on Senior Night.
UNC guard Cormac Ryan delivered a stellar performance, leading all scorers with 31 points on an efficient 8-for-12 shooting from the field. Meanwhile, Kyle Filipowski led the scoring for Duke with 23 points. The victory was crucial for the Tar Heels (25–6, 17–3 ACC) as they needed it to clinch the conference title outright over the Blue Devils (24–7, 15–5).
Looking ahead, the ACC tournament is scheduled to commence on Tuesday in Washington. Both UNC and Duke will begin their tournament campaigns on Thursday.
