Drake has just given his fans a treasure trove of new material.
On Tuesday, the rapper launched a website featuring a massive 100 gigabytes of music, demos, and behind-the-scenes footage.
This extensive collection includes videos dating back several years, offering a rare glimpse into the making of some of his most iconic music videos and the creative process behind his biggest hits.
Among the numerous clips is a particularly intriguing video where Drake shares a moment with his mother, Sandra, as he plays her a song from his 2016 album, Views. The track in question is “Too Good,” a collaboration with Rihanna.
In “Too Good,” Drake sings, “I wanna tell you my intentions / I wanna do the things that I mention / I wanna benefit from the friendship / I wanna get the late night message from you, from you / I put my hands around you / Gotta get a handle on you.” At the time of the song’s release, many speculated that the lyrics were about Rihanna, given their romantic history.
However, in the video, Drake reveals that the song is actually about tennis superstar Serena Williams, with whom he was rumored to have been romantically involved around 2015. “This [song] is more about me and Serena,” Drake confides to his mother.
With a knowing smile, Sandra responds, “I gathered that.”

Drake goes on to explain his intentions behind the song, assuring that it is lighthearted and meant to be enjoyed. “It’s funny because when I make songs about women, I also make songs for them,” Drake explains. “So, I know what kind of song to make — if I’m gonna talk about them, I’ll at least do them the justice of making them a song that they like. I know Serena very well, and I know that she’ll hear it loud and clear, but she’ll also not hate me for it because it’s lighthearted.”
Sandra, ever the voice of reason, reminds Drake, “She is seeing someone else.” At that time, Williams was beginning her relationship with Alexis Ohanian, whom she got engaged to by the end of 2016 and married in 2017.
Although Williams has never directly commented on the song, the relationship between her and Drake seemed strained in the following years. This tension was evident when Drake dissed Ohanian on the 2022 track “Middle of the Ocean” from his collaboration album Her Loss with 21 Savage. In the song, Drake raps, “Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie / He claim we don’t got a problem but / No, boo, it is like you comin’ for sushi.”
The drama didn’t end there. Kendrick Lamar came to Williams’ defense in his 2024 diss track aimed at Drake, “Not Like Us,” where he warns, “From Alondra down to central, better not speak on Serena.”
Williams herself addressed the ongoing feud at the 2024 ESPY Awards, taking a jab at Drake during her opening monologue.
In retrospect, the lesson is clear: Drake may have intended “Too Good” to be a lighthearted nod to past relationships, but the aftermath suggests that provoking one of the greatest athletes in the world is a risky move. As the history between Drake, Williams, and Ohanian shows, some lyrics can have lasting repercussions.
