Doug Gottlieb is set to take on a new role this year.
According to Jeff Goodman, college basketball analyst and radio host Doug Gottlieb is set to be hired as Green Bay’s next coach for its men’s basketball team.
Some fans assumed he’d have to give up his radio show, but that won’t be the case. He’ll still host his daily FOX radio show, per Goodman.
He’s going to have a busy schedule, but it’ll be worth it if he can improve Green Bay’s performance.
Gottlieb was also in the mix for the Green Bay job last year before the school hired Sundance Wicks. Wicks lasted one season before leaving for Wyoming, leading Green Bay to circle back to Gottlieb.
Gottlieb has long aspired to coach, and now he’ll get his chance. Green Bay finished the 2023-24 season with an 18-14 record and a 13-7 Horizon League record. The team then lost to Milwaukee in the conference tournament in March.
This will be one of the more intriguing storylines to follow during the 2024-25 college basketball season.
