Travis Kelce thrives on being the center of attention, according to his mom, Donna Kelce. In a recent interview with Extra, Donna opened up about how her youngest son has been embracing the increased spotlight, especially in the wake of his high-profile relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift.
“He’s always loved being in the limelight,” Donna said to Extra. “He loves attention. He’s always dancing, joking around, and just having fun. He’s always been like that, enjoying life to the fullest.”
Donna went on to describe Travis, 34, as having a “zest for life” that’s contagious. The Kansas City Chiefs star, she said, not only enjoys being the life of the party but also makes it a point to ensure others around him are having a good time.
“He wants to make sure everyone’s laughing and enjoying themselves,” she said. “It just seems like his life is on a trajectory that’s constantly rising. Every time I turn around, he’s off doing something new—whether he’s playing golf, attending a concert, or just out there having a blast.”
Donna, who has become something of a celebrity herself thanks to her famous sons, pointed out that some of Travis’s antics, like his bold fashion choices, might be his way of connecting with people.
“A lot of the things he does, whether it’s on the field or off, or even with his colorful outfits, are just about getting a smile out of people,” she explained.

At 71, Donna has witnessed her son’s rise to fame and expressed how proud she is of how he’s handling it, especially as his relationship with Swift has drawn even more attention. “I think he’s managing it all pretty well,” she said.
Donna has spent a fair amount of time with Swift, having been spotted together cheering on Travis at several Chiefs games. In a recent conversation with Page Six, Donna shared why she thinks her son is a good match for the “Cruel Summer” singer.
“He’s a good guy,” Donna said. “He’s kind, generous, and just a really down-to-earth person. And from what I understand, she’s the same way.”
While Donna remained careful not to reveal too much about the couple’s private life, she did add, “I hope they’re having a good time together.”
Travis and Swift first went public with their relationship in September 2023 when she attended one of his football games. Since then, the couple has been inseparable.
Swift has been spotted cheering him on at more than a dozen NFL games, while Travis has shown his support at her Eras Tour concerts. The couple continues to make headlines, both for their individual careers and their growing relationship, which seems to be going strong over a year later.
