Donald Trump can’t help but try to interject himself into the conversation.
In a social media post on Sunday, the former president made a somewhat indirect plea to pop star Taylor Swift, who is anticipated to have a prominent presence on TV during the game, in which her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, is playing.
Trump took credit for Swift’s financial success, suggesting that endorsing Biden would be “disloyal” to him, the person who he claims contributed significantly to her wealth.
“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists. Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, referring to legislation he signed in 2018 aimed at updating copyright laws.
“There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the History of our Country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money. Besides that, I like her boyfriend, Travis, even though he may be a Liberal, and probably can’t stand me!”

A recent New York Times report suggesting that Biden’s campaign was seeking Swift’s endorsement led to various conspiracy theories, including one claiming that the NFL postseason was manipulated to favor the Chiefs so Swift could make the endorsement during the game’s massive TV audience.
Swift endorsed Biden over Trump in 2020, but has not indicated whether she will publicly support any candidate in the future.
