Donald Trump has launched a fresh tirade against superstar Taylor Swift following her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election. Taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump posted an all-caps message on Sunday morning that simply read, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”—a statement that came without further context or explanation but quickly caught attention.
The clash between Trump and Swift intensified after the pop icon publicly voiced her support for Harris in a lengthy Instagram post. Swift praised Harris’ leadership and linked her post to Vote.gov, which reportedly drove over 400,000 visitors to the voter information site in just 24 hours. Swift’s endorsement followed Harris’ strong performance in a recent debate against Trump, who is running as the Republican nominee in the 2024 election.
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift wrote in her post. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader, and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
Swift also took the opportunity to call out Trump for previously circulating a fake, AI-generated image of her endorsing him. The doctored image had gone viral earlier in the year, falsely suggesting that Swift was a supporter of Trump’s campaign.
Interestingly, Trump’s views on Swift have shifted dramatically over the years. In the past, he had expressed admiration for her, though mostly focusing on her appearance. In an interview for Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass, Trump remarked, “I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful! I find her very beautiful. I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump. I hear she’s very talented.”

However, following Swift’s endorsement of Harris, Trump’s tone changed. During a call-in segment on Fox News’ Fox & Friends, Trump declared that he was “not a Taylor Swift fan” and predicted that her political stance would come with consequences. “She’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace,” Trump said, seemingly hinting that Swift’s career could be affected by her outspoken political views.
Rather than continuing to focus on Swift, Trump shifted his praise to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Mahomes couple has become somewhat intertwined with Swift through Patrick’s friendship with Swift’s current boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Swift and Brittany were even photographed together at the U.S. Open earlier this month, sparking media attention.
“Well, I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better. If you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan,” Trump said when asked about Swift’s endorsement of Harris. “I was not a Taylor Swift fan. She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it. But I like Brittany. Brittany is great. She’s the one I like much better than Taylor Swift. Wife of the great quarterback. I think she’s terrific.”
As the 2024 presidential election continues to heat up, it’s clear that Swift’s endorsement of Harris has struck a nerve with Trump.
Swift, on the other hand, remains committed to her political stance, making waves not only in the music world but also in the political arena as she encourages her fan base to vote.
With both sides firmly entrenched, the clash between the pop icon and the former president is only likely to escalate in the coming months.
