The Oakland Athletics’ attempts to relocate to Las Vegas have faced backlash from their own fans in California, and now it seems others are joining in.
During a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, TV broadcasts captured audio of Dodger Stadium organist Dieter Ruehle playing a snippet of Elvis Presley’s “Viva Las Vegas” while the A’s were warming up in the fourth inning.
The choice of song appears too deliberate to be a mere coincidence, potentially adding insult to injury.

The A’s relocation plans to Las Vegas have generated significant controversy, with owner John Fisher at the center of it.
In response, Oakland fans have organized a reverse boycott, although commissioner Rob Manfred has shown little sympathy. Depending on one’s perspective, this move could be seen as rubbing salt in the wound.
However, if that is the case, the A’s organization is largely responsible for inviting such provocation.
