NBA enthusiasts were taken aback on Tuesday with the abrupt dismissal of Adrian Griffin as the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. Shortly thereafter, reports surfaced indicating that the Bucks had swiftly secured a replacement.
According to the Turner Sports crew during their NBA telecast, the Bucks have enlisted Doc Rivers as their new head coach.
Interestingly, TNT’s crew referred to CNN Sports as the source, causing some surprise as many were unaware of CNN Sports being a legitimate media outlet.

Despite early reports linking Rivers to the vacant coaching position after Griffin’s departure, prominent NBA reporters such as Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania had not corroborated the news of Rivers’ hiring.
CBS Sports’ Bill Reiter also asserted that there was no finalized agreement between the Bucks and Rivers.
Notably, Rivers has already been involved with the Bucks, reportedly serving as an informal consultant since their advancement to the semifinals of the In-Season Tournament, as reported by The Athletic. The 62-year-old coach has an extensive coaching career, having led teams like the Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, LA Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers.
While achieving a championship with the Celtics in 2008, Rivers has faced recent recognition for challenges in maintaining leads during playoff series.
