The NFL Draft is gearing up for Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, with a large audience expected to gather once again in Detroit.
Some attendees of the draft also showed up for the live recording of The Pat McAfee Show in Detroit, where Taylor Swift unexpectedly became a topic of conversation. When NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was speaking, McAfee brought up Swift, prompting a chorus of boos from the audience.
“They’re booing Taylor Swift here?” Goodell remarked, taken aback by the negative response toward one of the world’s most recognizable celebrities.
“You can’t boo her!” McAfee responded. He jokingly warned the crowd, “You’re gonna be part of her album,” alluding to Swift’s reputation for addressing her detractors in her music.

Although Swift’s frequent appearances at NFL games, particularly Chiefs games, were generally well-received, there were some complaints about her being shown too often on broadcasts. Nevertheless, her presence has undeniably brought additional attention and revenue to the NFL, further cementing its status in the pop culture realm.
Swift’s ongoing relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may continue to draw her fans toward the NFL.
However, the likelihood of converting die-hard football fans into Swifties seems to be more challenging, as evidenced by the reception at events like the NFL Draft.
Despite the mixed reactions, Swift remains engaged with the NFL community. She showed her support by liking the Chiefs’ Instagram post that captured the moment they selected their first-round pick, Xavier Worthy.
