The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2023 season ended in Detroit against the Lions, and one notable player from the 2023 Buccaneers will be wearing a Lions uniform next season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cornerback Carlton Davis, who has spent his entire four-year career with the Buccaneers after being drafted by them with in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft, has been traded to the Detroit Lions.
The Buccaneers will receive a 2024 third-round draft pick from the Lions and will also send over a sixth-round draft pick in 2024 and a sixth-round draft pick in 2025.
Davis had been a mainstay for the Buccaneers at cornerback since 2018 as he started 50 games for them and won a Super Bowl with them in 2021.
Davis was a second-team All-American and first-team All-SEC cornerback while at Auburn in 2017.
Entering his fifth season, Davis will head to Detroit with nine career interceptions, but he is still looking for his first career defensive touchdown.
