Zach Wilson is set to start anew with the Denver Broncos.
The former New York Jets quarterback, who was selected second overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, is being traded to Denver, as reported by NFL Media.
In the deal, the Broncos will send a sixth-round pick (No. 203) to the Jets in exchange for Wilson and a seventh-round pick (No. 256). Additionally, the Jets will cover part of Wilson’s $5.5 million salary for 2024.

The 24-year-old quarterback had not been participating in the Jets’ offseason program, having received permission to seek a trade elsewhere.
This move comes after the Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers last offseason. Despite Rodgers’ arrival, Wilson ended up starting 11 games last season due to Rodgers sustaining an Achilles injury after just four offensive snaps. During the season, Wilson completed 60.1% of his passes, throwing for 2,271 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
Over his three seasons with the Jets, Wilson started 33 of the 34 games he played, completing 57% of his passes for a total of 6,293 yards, with 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.
In Denver, Wilson will be joining a quarterback room that currently includes Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci. With the Broncos holding the No. 12 overall pick in the upcoming draft, there remains the possibility that the team could further bolster their quarterback lineup.
