Another former athlete faces a challenging situation.
A woman has come forward with accusations of sexual assault against former NBA player Josh Jackson, citing an incident that allegedly occurred in a New York City hotel room after a Super Bowl party in February 2022.
A civil case targeting the 26-year-old Jackson was recently filed in U.S. District Court. Notably, as reported by Daniel Libit of Sportico, no criminal charges have been lodged in connection with this case.
Here are further details on the matter:
Jackson’s accuser, whose identity remains confidential in legal documents, asserts that she initially attended the party due to her romantic interest in NBA player Andre Drummond, a co-host of the event who is not implicated in the woman’s claims. Instead, she left the party with Jackson and subsequently agreed to meet him in his hotel during the early morning hours, under the belief that Drummond was accompanying him.
According to the woman’s account, she arrived at Jackson’s hotel room at the New York Edition Hotel while heavily intoxicated. The lawsuit alleges that Jackson solicited her for sex, offering her $1,500 while boasting about having $12 million in his bank account. The plaintiff says she declined his advances, after which she laid down on the bed and fell asleep.

At some point later, the woman alleges that she was awakened by Jackson’s forceful attempt to engage in sexual activity with her. She claimed to have resisted his advances. Subsequently, the lawsuit asserts that she left the hotel room, purchased emergency contraception at a pharmacy, and returned home by train where she took a shower.
The woman also maintains that two “intimidating, hooded female individuals” broke into her apartment, claiming she had stolen Jackson’s watch. These individuals are said to have physically assaulted and robbed her and were later charged with larceny and criminal trespassing.
The plaintiff reported the alleged sexual assault to the New York City police approximately two months after the incident, as indicated by a redacted copy of the incident report, provided by her attorney, Seamus Barrett, to Sportico.
Libit additionally noted that the description in the document aligns with the “age and biographical details” of Josh Jackson, even though he is not explicitly mentioned.
