Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is setting a serious tone for his team this spring, leaving no room for leniency.
In a recent video released by Well Off Media, Sanders delivered a stern warning to his players: returning late from spring break will result in removal from the Colorado football team.
Sanders’ message was crystal clear as he emphasized the importance of punctuality and accountability. He stressed the significance of players being back in Boulder on time to check in, highlighting the repercussions for those who fail to adhere to the schedule.

“Right now, I’m thinking about when we get back [to Boulder] and check in on Sunday. I pray that everyone checks back in, and no one is screaming they missed a flight,” Sanders said. “That’s why we tell ’em to be back on Saturday, so you’re already there for Sunday. But guess what? There’s always somebody, and they’re locker’s going to be naked. If you know what that means, it’s a wrap.
“If you can’t do the little things in the offseason, how are you going to do the big things in the season? It’s all a decision and a choice.”
By focusing on instilling habits of diligence and responsibility, Sanders aims to lay a strong foundation for the team’s success. Recognizing the critical role of attention to detail, such as time management, Sanders believes these principles will propel the program forward.
Sanders’ debut season as Colorado’s head coach saw mixed results, with the team finishing 4-8 despite promising beginnings. With aspirations to elevate the program to new heights, Sanders is adamant that a diligent and committed approach, starting from spring practices, is essential for future success.
As the Buffaloes set their sights on progress in the upcoming season, Sanders is leaving no room for complacency, especially in the crucial period following spring break.
