Is Deion Sanders going to continue his climb up the college football coaching ladder?
A lot of fans – and media personalities – seem to want to see Deion Sanders leave Colorado for Texas A&M.
It makes sense. Texas A&M is in need of a new head coach following the firing of Jimbo Fisher. Sanders has had early success at Colorado and his personality would be highly entertaining in the SEC.

But fans and media personalities are forgetting about one very important thing: his sons.
Deion Sanders’ sons, Shedeur and Shilo, have another year of eligibility remaining at Colorado. Coach Prime has made it clear that he wants his sons to play another year of college football before heading to the NFL.
If Deion Sanders leaves Colorado for Texas A&M, he would likely have to leave his children behind. The NCAA would be unlikely to approve another transfer waiver for Shedeur and Shilo.
“Let’s remember the NCAA showed this year it doesn’t like to give waivers to 2nd-time transfers. If Deion goes to A&M, he either leaves Shedeur, Travis and others behind (not gonna happen) or risks them transferring and not being eligible in 2024 (not likely to happen),” Brian Howell tweeted.
Given that, it seems highly unlikely that Deion Sanders would consider leaving Colorado for Texas A&M – or any other college job at this point.
If Deion Sanders leaves Colorado, it’ll probably be after the 2024 season or beyond.
Hard to imagine Deion not wanting to coach his sons.
