Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders openly discusses his ever-changing ranking of his five children, emphasizing that he is not alone in this parenting practice.
In December 2022, Sanders, aged 56, first shared his public ranking of his children on Instagram, with his son Deion Jr., aged 29, occupying the top position.
Following the Buffaloes’ recent victory against Colorado State, where his son Shilo Sanders, aged 23, contributed with two turnovers, Coach Sanders, who is also a father of five, suggested that he might have an updated ranking order.
During a post-game media interaction, a reporter humorously asked if Shilo’s performance had improved his ranking among the kids. Sanders responded, “He is moving up, he is moving on up like the Jeffersons, but [son] Shedeur is straight-up balling too.”

Additionally, Sanders hinted that his daughter Shelomi, nicknamed “Bossy,” may have also ascended in the rankings after the game, explaining, “Bossy came in and gave me the biggest hug and kiss and appreciation for Daddy that she could ever give me at the end of the game, so that was great.”
Sanders admitted that ranking his children is challenging, describing it as a “serious run” at the moment.
He also claimed that he’s not the only parent who ranks their kids and criticized the idea that everyone loves their children equally, saying, “I’m the only one that’s honest about ranking my kids. You guys act like you love all of them the same and you don’t. I don’t know why y’all act like that.”
Deion Sanders has two children with his first wife, Carolyn Chambers: a daughter, Deiondra, aged 31, and a son, Deion Jr., aged 29. He also has three children with his second wife, Pilar Biggers-Sanders: sons Shilo, aged 23, and Shedeur, aged 21, and daughter Shelomi, aged 19.
Sanders highlighted the importance of unity within his family, emphasizing their shared belief in strength through unity. He explained that they live out these values by working together and integrating into each other’s lives, all centered around sports.
The Colorado Buffaloes have become a significant success story in sports this season, boasting a 3-0 record, far surpassing their preseason ranking at number 22. Their third victory was a double overtime thriller against their rivals, Colorado State.
