David Ortiz has always been a captivating figure.
During a recent appearance on “MLB on FOX Pregame,” David Ortiz added some humor to the mix by cracking a joke about legendary baseball player Pete Rose. When asked to make his prediction for Game 5 of the ALCS between the Astros and Rangers, the Hall of Famer left no room for doubt about his confidence in Justin Verlander’s ability to secure a victory for Houston.

Ortiz’s level of confidence in Verlander was so high that he playfully bet his “all” on him, dramatically sliding poker chips onto the table. He quipped, “My man Pete Rose is gonna like this one right here. I’m going all-in…all the chips, watch, cell phone, glasses, I got everything on JV tonight.”
As expected, Ortiz’s antics on FOX quickly went viral, eliciting laughter from some fans.
While Verlander initially performed well in the first five innings, things took a turn for the worse in the bottom of the sixth when he surrendered a three-run homer to Adolis Garcia, putting the Rangers ahead 4-2. Fortunately for the Astros, All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve came through with a go-ahead homer in the top of the ninth inning, securing the win for his team.
The MLB Playoffs are undeniably heating up.
