Dave Portnoy didn’t mince words in his latest tirade, taking aim at Mark Zuckerberg in a scathing post on X. The Barstool Sports founder criticized the Meta CEO, accusing him of being spineless in the face of political pressure.
The controversy stems from Zuckerberg’s recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, where he discussed interactions between Meta and the Biden administration regarding the removal of vaccine-related posts. Portnoy seized on a segment of the interview, where Zuckerberg described the pressure Meta faced.
“Zuckerberg is such a spineless jellyfish,” Portnoy wrote, reposting a 42-second clip from the podcast. “Somebody from Biden’s team (unnamed) told his team to take stuff down, so he rolled over. Trump gets elected, and suddenly he’s a new man.”
In the clip, Zuckerberg detailed how the Biden administration allegedly pressured Meta to take down vaccine-related content, even if it was accurate.

“They pushed us super hard to take down things that were honestly true,” Zuckerberg said. “They said, ‘Anything that says vaccines might have side effects, you basically need to take down.’ I was just like, ‘We’re not gonna do that.’”
When Rogan pressed him on who was issuing these demands, Zuckerberg revealed, “It was people in the Biden administration. These people would call up our team, scream at them, and curse.”
Portnoy’s criticism of Zuckerberg is not new. The outspoken Barstool boss has often mocked Zuckerberg’s attempts to appear relatable or cool. On the Fourth of July, Zuckerberg shared a video of himself surfing in a tuxedo while holding an American flag and chugging a beer. The Meta CEO captioned the video, “Happy birthday, America.”
Portnoy didn’t hold back then either, tweeting, “You can’t go from supremely uncool to cool by just trying hard. Zuck will always be uncool. I refuse to entertain the possibility he will ever do anything cool.”
The ongoing feud highlights Portnoy’s disdain for Zuckerberg, with each new public appearance or statement from the Meta chief providing fresh fodder for Portnoy’s sharp critiques. Whether it’s policy decisions or personal antics, it’s clear that Zuckerberg remains firmly in Portnoy’s crosshairs.
