Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, announced on his “BFFs” podcast that he and his girlfriend Silvana Mojica broke up after three years of dating.
Portnoy explained that they wanted different things in life, feeling he couldn’t provide what she deserved. Despite Mojica’s online posts about the breakup, Portnoy denied cheating and emphasized that it wasn’t planned but the result of an organic conversation. He then took responsibility for the break up, squarely pointing the finger back at himself.

“It was probably a me-issue,” and admitted he doesn’t think he is “the guy that she is looking for and is going to be able to provide her with what she needs down the road.”
While acknowledging the poor timing and expressing concern for Mojica’s well-being, Portnoy described losing his best friend and wished her happiness in the future.
“I lost my best friend as well,” he said, noting that he still “loves” Mojica and is “very concerned [with] what happens to her.”
He encouraged fans to support Mojica and hopes she finds her soulmate.
Before his relationship with Mojica, Dave Portnoy was married to Renee Satterthwaite from 2009 to 2017. Given his outgoing personality and public persona, it’s likely that Portnoy won’t take long to form new connections and find another best friend.
