The feud between Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and 670 The Score host Dan Bernstein has taken another dramatic turn, as Portnoy continues to escalate what has largely been a one-sided conflict. After making it his mission to disrupt Bernstein’s career following a viral moment earlier this month, Portnoy has now found a new way to antagonize the Chicago sports radio host.
The feud began when a clip circulated online showing Bernstein responding negatively to Barstool Eddie, a key figure at Barstool Sports. Bernstein’s comments didn’t sit well with Portnoy, who quickly rallied his Barstool fanbase, urging them to go after Bernstein and make his professional life difficult.
In his latest move, Portnoy took things a step further by participating in a charity auction hosted by 670 The Score. The station offered a unique experience as part of the fundraiser—an opportunity to serve as “Producer for a Day” on the station’s midday show. Unsurprisingly, Portnoy placed the winning bid, securing himself a chance to wield some control at the very station where his rival, Dan Bernstein, works.
However, changes to the station’s lineup have since altered the dynamics of the midday show. Dan Bernstein, who previously co-hosted with Laurence Holmes, now works with Marshall Harris from 10 AM to 2 PM. Holmes, meanwhile, has moved to the afternoon drive show alongside Matt Spiegel.

Despite these programming shifts, Portnoy remains laser-focused on his goal: producing a show with Dan Bernstein. Taking to social media, he made his intentions clear, stating, “Dear 670 The Score, I have a question. Now that Holmes ditched Dan Bernstein, what show do I get to produce? I won that auction to be Bernstein’s boss for a day. I want to produce his show.”
Portnoy’s message leaves little doubt that he has no interest in the lineup changes; his sole motivation is to use his auction win to assert control over a show featuring Bernstein, continuing his vendetta in the most public way possible.
As of now, neither 670 The Score nor Dan Bernstein have responded to Portnoy’s provocative comments or the reactions from Barstool Sports fans. The situation has created a buzz among listeners, with many wondering whether the station will allow Portnoy to fulfill his auction win or find a way to sidestep what could turn into an on-air showdown.
Portnoy’s aggressive tactics aren’t new, as he has a long history of feuds and conflicts with public figures. However, his latest ploy to invade Bernstein’s professional space takes the rivalry to new heights.
Whether 670 The Score and Bernstein will engage with Portnoy’s antics or simply ignore the controversy remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Portnoy isn’t backing down any time soon.
