Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams has taken issue with recent claims made by former NFL wideout DeSean Jackson, who suggested that Adams is unhappy with his situation in Las Vegas.
Responding to Jackson’s comments, Adams firmly denied the allegations during an interview on Wednesday. “The idea that I’m upset or unhappy in this organization is complete BS,” Adams told ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez. “It’s just something thrown out there for clickbait. Everybody wants to know what Davante Adams is thinking, and people assume I’m pissed off in Vegas. But if I was, I wouldn’t be here right now.”
Adams further emphasized his frustration with the rumors, adding, “If it doesn’t come from me, it’s probably bullshit.”
Jackson’s remarks were made during an August appearance on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” where he discussed Adams’ potential discontent with the Raiders. Jackson, who played a brief stint with the Raiders in 2021, shared his views after watching Adams in the Netflix series Receiver, which follows the 2023 season. Adams had shown signs of frustration, and he also missed time in OTAs and training camp due to the birth of his son, further fueling speculation.
“This one’s tough because Davante and I have had conversations,” Jackson explained. “I don’t want to make it sound like I’m stirring the pot, but he’s not happy. That’s just what it is.”
Jackson went on to speculate that Adams’ discontent may stem from the way things have played out since his highly anticipated reunion with former Fresno State teammate Derek Carr, who was benched and later released by the Raiders. Since Carr’s departure, Adams has caught passes from a rotating cast of quarterbacks, including Jimmy Garoppolo, Brian Hoyer, and rookie Aidan O’Connell, leaving Jackson to suggest that the constant upheaval has taken a toll on Adams.

“It didn’t quite work out the way it was supposed to, and now I just don’t think he’s happy there anymore,” Jackson said of Adams’ situation.
Adams, however, made it clear that Jackson’s comments were far from accurate. He admitted he had considered addressing the rumors in a video but ultimately decided against it, not wanting to add unnecessary attention to the situation.
“At the end of the day, facts are facts, and what DeSean said is not a fact,” Adams stated. “I’ve probably only talked to DeSean maybe three or four times in my life, and we’ve never had a conversation about this—ever. And I put that on my kids. I’ve never spoken to him about anything like that.”
Despite the swirling rumors, Adams has continued to be a dominant force for the Raiders. In his first season in Las Vegas, Adams led the NFL with 14 receiving touchdowns and tallied 1,516 yards. While his production dipped slightly last season, with 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns, he remains one of the league’s top wide receivers.
Now, the six-time Pro Bowler is focused on chasing his fifth consecutive 1,000-yard season as the Raiders prepare to open their season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Despite the noise, Adams is determined to let his play do the talking, proving once again why he’s one of the best in the business.
