Mike Tyson is gearing up to return to the ring!
On Friday, June 7, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced the rescheduling of the much-anticipated bout between the 57-year-old boxing legend and 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
The fight, initially set for July 20, was postponed due to Tyson experiencing an ulcer flare-up last month.
It has now been rescheduled for November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where it will share the spotlight with another high-profile match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.
Tyson expressed gratitude for the support during his health setback, stating, “Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff, MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for their efforts in swiftly finding a new suitable date. The outcome will remain unchanged; Jake Paul is going down. Be sure to watch us live at AT&T Stadium or on Netflix this November 15.”
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP, elaborated on the effort to reschedule, emphasizing the goal of ensuring both fighters are adequately prepared and maintaining the venue availability during the Dallas Cowboys season. “We’re grateful for the exceptional cooperation from Netflix and AT&T Stadium. This event, Paul vs. Tyson, represents a monumental cross-generational sporting event, set to leave a lasting impact on the world of boxing, broadcast live globally on Netflix.”
For those who purchased tickets for the original July date, these will be honored in November. MVP also indicated that refunds are available for those who prefer, with instructions to contact SeatGeek directly.
The postponement came after Tyson experienced a medical issue during a flight, where he suffered from nausea and dizziness triggered by his ulcer. Despite the setback, Tyson reassured fans of his health and commitment to the fight, noting, “My body is in better shape than it has been since the 1990s, and I will soon return to my full training regimen. Jake, enjoy the extra time, but it won’t change the inevitable outcome. I’m eager to give an unforgettable performance later this year and appreciate everyone’s patience and support.”
