Former NASCAR driver and F1 host Danica Patrick is addressing the backlash she’s faced following her recent venture into politics.
In December, Patrick attended a Turning Point USA event hosted by conservative figure Charlie Kirk. Subsequently, she shared a photo on social media wearing a hat that read, “I could s–t a better president,” which was interpreted as a direct criticism of President Biden.
Recently, Patrick sat down with YouTuber Isabel Brown to discuss the criticism she’s encountered regarding her political stance over the past few months.
Expressing surprise at the backlash, Patrick remarked on the current societal climate where conservative beliefs, such as the acknowledgment of only two genders or love for America, seem to provoke controversy. She highlighted the challenges faced by individuals holding conservative or rational perspectives, suggesting that such views are often marginalized or silenced in today’s society.

“For sure surprised, it doesn’t seem like these beliefs whether they are two genders or I love America should be really not clear to people we just live in a weird time where any real kind of conservative belief system is you can’t even talk about it like you can’t even be proud of those things anymore, you could only be proud if you believe in more progressive, alternative ways of living or believing in things…why is it that anyone who has a conservative or I would say rational perspective on things are being canceled or quieted’
Addressing the polarizing nature of expressing political beliefs, Patrick acknowledged that being vocal about one’s political stance risks alienating a portion of the audience. She noted that some athletes opt to remain apolitical to avoid this division.
