The Los Angeles Lakers are in a lot of trouble.
The Lakers fell once again at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to the Denver Nuggets — that’s 11 straight losses to the Nuggets if you’re counting — and they now trail 3-0 in the playoff series.
D’Angelo Russell had a terrible shooting night as he pulled a play-in game Klay Thompson shooting 0-for-7 from the field for a grand total of zero points in 24 minutes.
His poor shooting wasn’t the only reason Russell got blasted on social media as he could be seen eating snacks instead of joining the team huddle at one point during the game.
This is very different look for a guy who following the Lakers’ Game 2 loss took to Discord to say that the Lakers were still going to win the series.
Social media let him have it as expected.
That’s not a great look for Russell.
Russell was on fire in the Lakers Game 2 loss as he scored 23 points, but he’s not going to be able to live this scoreless performance down or his reluctance to join his teammates in the team huddle.
The Lakers will be fighting for their playoff lives in Game 4 back at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday.
