It appears that Damian Lillard is embarking on a new chapter in his life.
Formerly associated with the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard has officially initiated divorce proceedings with his wife, Kay’La Lillard.
The divorce papers were filed on October 2nd in Clackamas County Circuit Court, a move that coincided closely with Lillard’s high-profile trade to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The initial report on this development was made by Sophie Peel of Willamette Week.
The divorce filing, filed in Clackamas County Circuit Court, cites “irreconcilable differences” between the Lillards that “caused the irremediable breakdown of their marriage.” The filing would suggest that in December 2022, Kay’La Lillard moved into a $2.7 million West Linn home, while Damian Lillard remained in the couple’s $7.7 million West Linn mansion. According to filings, Lillard moved in September of this year to a home in Tualatin.
Damian and Kay’La Lillard, who began their relationship as college sweethearts at Weber State University, tied the knot on September 21, 2021, in Santa Barbara, California. Together, they have three children: Damian Jr., who is 5 years old, and twins Kalii and Kali, who are 2 years old.
The divorce petition cites “irreconcilable differences between the parties” as the cause for the irreparable breakdown of their marriage.
Additionally, it is noted that the couple had previously entered into a “valid and enforceable Premarital Agreement” on August 30, 2021.
Best of luck to both moving forward.
