Is a reunion on the horizon for the Dallas Cowboys?
Rumors circulated recently that the running back-needy Cowboys were interested in signing one of two former Pro Bowl running backs.
Now, rumors of a reunion between one of those running backs with the Cowboys is heating up.
This from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler:
“Sources: Cowboys, RB Ezekiel Elliott have mutual interest in a possible reunion.”
Three-time Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott reuniting with the Cowboys makes quite a bit of sense.

Elliott of course had spent his entire career with the Cowboys from 2016 to 2022 before signing with the New England Patriots last season.
After being drafted by the Cowboys with the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Elliott represented the Cowboys in three Pro Bowls (2016, 2018, and 2019) and led the NFL in rushing yards twice (2016 and 2018).
Despite only running for 642 yards and three rushing touchdowns over 15 games for the Patriots in 2023, Elliott did have some productive games when fellow Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson went down with an injury.
For the majority of the season, Stevenson demanded the majority of carries while active.
The Cowboys currently enter the 2024 NFL draft with last year’s back-up running back Rico Dowdle listed as starter and Deuce Vaughn listed as the second-string running back after losing last year’s starting running back Tony Pollard to the Tennessee Titans.
