The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2024 offseason with lofty aspirations, fueled by owner Jerry Jones’s declaration of going “all-in” for a Super Bowl triumph.
However, rather than executing major free-agent acquisitions, the team pursued modest adjustments to their roster.
One notable decision was the re-signing of running back Ezekiel Elliott, though lingering concerns persisted regarding the overall depth of their running backs.
Recent speculations have surfaced linking the Cowboys to Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris who was a Pro Bowler in his rookie season in 2021.
Adam Crowley, a personality at 93.7 The Fan, shared a scorching Steelers trade rumor on Monday morning:
“So here’s the hot, hot, hot Steelers trade rumor. It comes from one guy from Fan Sided and the other guy from Bleacher Report, so I don’t know if it’s the most credible thing. I also don’t know if it’s not, because both of those guys say they have Steelers sources, and the rumor is this: The Dallas Cowboys could be interested in trading for Najee Harris.”
In this purported trade, as detailed by Crowley, the Cowboys would acquire Najee Harris along with a 2025 sixth-round pick from the Steelers.

In return, the Steelers would receive a 2025 fourth-round pick from Dallas.
While this trade would be a short-term arrangement due to Harris’s contract status, it could significantly benefit the Cowboys in the 2024 season.
Despite securing Elliott’s return, the Cowboys are lacking in running back depth.
Harris could offer insurance and enhance the overall talent pool in the backfield. At this stage of their careers, Harris may be considered younger and potentially more dynamic than Elliott.
His dual-threat capabilities as both a runner and receiver could introduce a fresh dimension to the Cowboys’ offensive strategy.
