The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed one of their former stars, Ezekiel Elliott, as reported by Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.
In the lead-up to the NFL Draft, the Cowboys met with Elliott, openly expressing their interest in bringing back the three-time Pro Bowl running back.
Jerry Jones, the team’s owner, recently stated that he believes Elliott still possesses the capability to be a starting running back.

Earlier this month, the Cowboys signed veteran running back Royce Freeman and, notably, did not select a running back in the draft.
This decision likely influenced their choice to re-sign Elliott.
Elliott, who is set to turn 29 in July, had a stint with the New England Patriots last season where he tallied 642 yards and three touchdowns across 184 carries.
Elliott originally played for the Cowboys from 2016 to 2022, during which he was one of the NFL’s top running backs. Following his departure, the Cowboys had shifted the lead running back responsibilities to Tony Pollard, who has since joined the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
