Earlier this offseason, it was confirmed that an investigation had been initiated into allegations of sexual assault made against Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
The allegations stemmed from an incident claimed to have occurred in the back of an SUV in February 2017, where a woman accused Prescott of assaulting her.
Before the woman could file a formal complaint in court, Prescott initiated legal action against her, alleging extortion for $100 million.
Recently, reports from WFAA have revealed that the lawsuit originally filed in Dallas County by the accuser has been withdrawn. However, according to her attorney, Yoel Zehaie, the case is being refiled in Collin County. This move is reportedly for convenience since Prescott had already filed a lawsuit there against the woman on grounds of extortion.

Yoel Zehaie, the attorney for the accuser, confirmed to WFAA that they dropped the Dallas County case to move the case to Collin County “for purposes of convenience,” since Collin County is where Prescott filed suit against the woman on allegations of extortion.
Zehaie said reports that their lawsuit against Prescott has been dropped entirely are “misleading.”
Zehaie emphasized that suggestions the lawsuit has been entirely dropped are “misleading.” The accuser is reportedly seeking $100 million in exchange for not taking the alleged assault to the police.
Prescott’s legal team is seeking damages exceeding $1 million from the lawsuit. They plan to donate any recovered funds to the Joyful Heart Foundation, an organization that supports victims of sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic violence.
Prescott’s attorney, Levi McCathern, stated, “Mr. Prescott—a new father to a baby girl—has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault. He firmly believes that all perpetrators should be severely punished. Mr. Prescott insists he has never engaged in any nonconsensual sexual acts. We intend to demonstrate that these accusations are not only untrue but are part of an attempt to extract millions from Mr. Prescott.”
Further updates on this situation will be provided as they develop.
