Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys suffered a tough loss on Sunday, falling to the Baltimore Ravens 28-25 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Despite a late-game surge, the Cowboys couldn’t overcome a 22-point deficit and now find themselves at 1-2 on the season. Fans of America’s Team were left frustrated as this marked the second consecutive home loss for Dallas, following their defeat by the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.
The Cowboys showed signs of life late in the game, nearly completing a comeback, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap against the Ravens, who improved to 1-2 with the win.
Dallas now faces mounting pressure as they prepare for a quick turnaround against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football in Week 4.
After the game, Dak Prescott issued a strong message to both Cowboys fans and the rest of the NFL. When asked about the team’s slow start to the season, Prescott delivered a pointed five-word warning: “Jump off if you want.”

Prescott’s message seemed aimed at critics and fans losing faith in the Cowboys, emphasizing that the team isn’t ready to give up on the season. His frustration was palpable, particularly over the offense’s sluggish performance through much of the game. The Cowboys didn’t start clicking offensively until the fourth quarter, a trend Prescott knows can’t continue if they want to turn things around.
“Very frustrating, especially when you’re playing a quarterback like that on the other side,” Prescott said, referring to the Ravens’ star QB. “An offense that powerful, you just can’t do it, honestly. Just holding some of the defensive guys… we have to look in the mirror. Us, the offense first, we have to help them.”
Prescott acknowledged that the Cowboys’ defense did their part by holding a high-powered Ravens offense, led by an MVP-caliber quarterback, to 28 points. However, he emphasized that the Cowboys offense didn’t deliver enough to match.
“It’s a game where we have to score 30, and we know it. We didn’t do it, and we started late,” Prescott said. “That’s the biggest part of it. The penalties and some errors. I guess you can say whether it be alignment, whether it be assignment, we’ve got to be cleaner. We’ve got to lock in, be more focused on our job, take accountability in every position and grow.”
Prescott’s comments reflect his understanding that the offense has to shoulder much of the blame. With the Ravens jumping out to a big lead early, Dallas struggled to find a rhythm until it was too late. Miscues, penalties, and missed opportunities plagued the Cowboys throughout the game, putting them in a difficult position. Prescott stressed the need for improvement in execution and discipline as the team prepares to move forward.
The Cowboys now have just a few days to regroup before facing division rivals, the New York Giants, in a prime-time showdown on Thursday night. Both teams will be looking for redemption, and the pressure is on Dallas to stop their losing skid.
The Cowboys and Giants will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET, with the game airing on Amazon Prime.
For Prescott and the Cowboys, the message is clear: they need to get back on track quickly, and Prescott’s fiery warning suggests they aren’t ready to back down.
The upcoming game against the Giants offers a chance to right the ship, but it’s clear that the quarterback knows the margin for error is shrinking.
