We’re all familiar with the legendary “Flu Game” from Michael Jordan.
However, on Sunday, it’s Patrick Mahomes who’s feeling under the weather. The Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback has received an injury designation for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos due to an illness.
The Chiefs announced, “Injury report update: QB Patrick Mahomes (Illness) – No Game Status Designation.”
According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Mahomes has come down with the flu and wasn’t feeling well. She reported, “Patrick Mahomes has the flu. He was feeling sick on Saturday. He has been receiving IVs both yesterday and today. He is not feeling great, but he will play, per source.”
With a cold afternoon in Denver on the horizon, kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, with the game airing on CBS.
While we hope for a memorable performance from Patrick, it’s worth noting that the stakes aren’t particularly high in this situation.
