Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso has reportedly joined OnlyFans following her controversial departure from the Olympic Village during the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. The 20-year-old Olympian, who made headlines for her conduct outside the pool, announced her retirement from competitive swimming after failing to qualify for the 100-meter butterfly semifinal on July 27.
Shortly after, she began promoting her OnlyFans account on social media, where she reportedly charges $35 per month for exclusive content, according to TMZ.
Alonso, who gained attention on social media for frequently sharing sultry bikini photos, found herself at the center of controversy during the Paris Games. After completing her competition, she remained in the Olympic Village—an action that is allowed—but her behavior while there allegedly caused issues within her team. One of the incidents that raised eyebrows included a trip to Disneyland Paris, which was seen by some as not aligning with the supportive environment expected from athletes during the Games.
The Paraguayan Olympic Committee later stepped in, citing her “inappropriate” behavior as the reason for her departure from the Olympic Village. Larissa Schaerer, head of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, made a statement to The Sun on August 5, saying, “Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay.”
Despite these accusations, Alonso took to social media to refute claims that she was expelled. In a post, she expressed frustration with what she referred to as “false information” and denied any forced removal from the Village. “I just wanted to make it clear that I was never removed or expelled from anywhere. Stop spreading false information,” Alonso wrote, according to The Daily Beast. She added, “I don’t want to give any statement, but I’m not going to let lies affect me either.”

Reports suggested that Alonso’s trips outside the Olympic Village and her behavior had upset leadership within Team Paraguay. According to The Daily Mail, her choice to socialize with other athletes and wear “skimpy clothing” became a distraction to her fellow competitors, leading to tension within the team.
Alonso’s retirement announcement came shortly after her disappointing result at the Paris Games. She finished sixth in her heat, narrowly missing the chance to advance to the women’s 100-meter butterfly semifinal by just 0.24 seconds. Reflecting on her decision, Alonso shared her journey with her fans but ultimately said goodbye to her swimming career.
Turning to OnlyFans, a platform that allows users to sell and purchase original content through subscriptions, is not a unique move for athletes seeking a new path after their sporting careers. Several other athletes have joined the platform and have been transparent about their experiences, seeing it as a way to maintain control over their personal brand and content.
For Alonso, the transition to OnlyFans marks a significant shift from her life as an Olympic swimmer to a new chapter, one that continues to keep her in the public eye but in a completely different context.
While her athletic career may have ended, her journey continues to generate buzz both on social media and in international headlines.
