Conspiracy theories appear to have become quite common in the NFL these days.
On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs secured yet another narrow victory, amid some contentious officiating.
Just a week following their win against the Jets on Sunday Night Football, the Chiefs emerged victorious against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon. The game featured a late fourth-quarter incident that left room for debate.
In this instance, a Chiefs defensive back removed his helmet but went unpunished. The referee simply instructed him to “Put your helmet on.”
This occurrence comes on the heels of the previous week’s Chiefs-Jets game, where a critical no-call on what seemed to be an obvious holding penalty played a part in Kansas City’s win.
As a result, NFL fans have become increasingly convinced that the officials are giving the Chiefs preferential treatment.

“I can’t help but love how the NFL appears to be favoring the Chiefs! A dynasty!” exclaimed one fan.
“Don’t you worry, this wasn’t holding; the NFL rigged it. The Chiefs are cheaters,” another fan chimed in.
“NFL is rigged. I never thought I’d say that. A player removes his helmet, and the ref even asks him to put it back on, lol. That’s a 15-yard penalty against any other team. Just stating the facts! The Chiefs benefit once more,” added another fan.
With this victory over the Vikings on Sunday, the Chiefs improved their record to 4-1 for the year.
It’s worth noting that conspiracy theories of the past have suggested the NFL is scripted, although no concrete evidence has ever supported such claims. While it may be challenging to fathom a deliberate plot to aid a specific team’s victory, it’s essential to remember that the NFL operates as a business, and business decisions must be made, even in the realm of sports.
