Unless there is an unexpected change of plans, it appears that the Commanders are gearing up for a revamped coaching staff in the upcoming 2024 season.
According to a report from Diann Russini of The Athletic on Saturday, it is anticipated that Commanders head coach Ron Rivera will be relieved of his duties once the 2023 season concludes. Furthermore, there might be changes in the front office, with the new ownership group led by Josh Harris considering the dismissal of several front office members.

Russini shared, “At this point, it’s understood around the building based on multiple people I have spoken with that Ron Rivera and some front office members will be fired. Since acquiring the team, new owner Josh Harris has had the vision to keep Rivera in place through the end of the season, then move on. It’s really not a secret anymore.”
This report aligns with insights from ESPN insiders Jeremy Fowler and John Keim earlier this month, who hinted at the likelihood of an across-the-board change in coaching staff. Rivera, at the helm of the Commanders since 2020, achieved his best record with an 8-8-1 season in 2022.
As Rivera approaches the end of his tenure with the Commanders, it remains to be seen if he can conclude it on a positive note. The Commanders are set to face the Rams this Sunday, and the signs have been pointing to an imminent change in leadership for quite some time.
