The sparks flew almost immediately. Comedian Jeff Ross kicked off the roast with a zinger aimed at Brady’s beginnings with the New England Patriots, joking about a notorious moment involving Patriots owner Robert Kraft and a massage parlor scandal. While the joke landed, it seemed to touch a nerve with Brady, who promptly cautioned Ross against making similar remarks.
Julian Edelman then shocked the room with a jaw-dropping joke about Rob Gronkowski’s anatomy, before dropping an unexpected reference to former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, eliciting a collective gasp from the audience. The mention of Hernandez, who was convicted of murder before his death in 2017, caught Gronkowski off guard and left the crowd stunned.

But Edelman wasn’t alone in referencing Hernandez; comedian Nikki Glaser also took a jab at Randy Moss, teasing him about not having a Super Bowl ring by referencing Hernandez’ suicide.
