Former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett is well aware of the news surrounding former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel.
Vrabel was let go by the Titans on Tuesday, and Clarett hopes that he doesn’t commit to a long-term agreement elsewhere. Clarett desires to see Vrabel back in Columbus as Ohio State’s next head football coach.
“Chill for 12 months big dog or don’t sign a long-term agreement with anyone. You’re already rich so you don’t need the bread. Go hang out with the family. Columbus would be on fire if you returned,” Clarett tweeted.
Clarett, a big fan of Vrabel, appreciates his success with the Titans during his six years with the team and recognizes Vrabel’s history as a former defensive end at Ohio State. While Ryan Day is currently at the helm for at least one more year, Clarett sees Vrabel as a potential excellent coach for OSU. While it’s more likely Vrabel takes another job in the NFL, Clarett acknowledges that crazier things have happened.

Considering the substantial earnings potential for college coaches at high-profile programs, Clarett suggests that if Vrabel’s decision is influenced by financial considerations, coaching at the collegiate level should not be dismissed.
