Earlier this week, Coastal Carolina head coach Tim Beck generated headlines with a photo that gained considerable attention on social media. While in Hawai’i for the Hawai’i Bowl, the head coach took a shirtless pose on the beach alongside the team’s mascot and the Chanticleers’ dance team.

The photo was initially shared by Coastal Carolina on social media but was later removed after receiving less-than-favorable comments from users. On Thursday evening, Beck issued a statement addressing the situation.
“The photo that was posted to our team’s social media accounts was meant to support our University,” Beck stated.
He continued, “The decision to delete the photo was made because the focus on the post was distracting from our time in Hawai’i and our preparation for Saturday’s game. That decision was mine.”
According to Outkick, a parent of a member of the dance team expressed that she had no objection to the photo.
“We (dance moms) are appalled at the comments we are seeing about Coach Beck and the girls,” the parent stated.
“It’s obvious they want to slander him and they’re using the girls to support their claim.”
Coastal Carolina is scheduled to face San Jose State on Saturday night in the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl. Advice for coaches: it’s advisable to maintain a professional distance from the team cheerleaders, particularly when shirtless.
