Russell Wilson, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback, has officially announced his move to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wilson revealed the news himself via social media on Sunday evening, following his release from the Denver Broncos after the 2023 season, during which he was benched towards the end of the year.
In his announcement, Wilson expressed his excitement about joining the Steelers, sharing a hype video on social media with the caption “Year 13. Grateful.”
Despite reports indicating Wilson’s signing for a relatively modest sum, due to the Broncos’ obligation to pay him close to $40 million this year, his wife, Ciara, showed her support for the move on her Instagram Story.

As Wilson prepares to embark on his 13th NFL season, he is expected to take up the starting quarterback position for the Steelers in 2024. Although Pittsburgh is also retaining quarterback Kenny Pickett, it is widely anticipated that Wilson will secure the starting role.
The Steelers, coming off a 2023 season that concluded with a Wild Card round loss to the Buffalo Bills, are aiming for a deeper postseason run in 2024 with Wilson at the helm.
