We’re living in a TikTok world these days.
Chris Paul was ejected from the Warriors-Pacers game on Thursday after mocking referee Tony Brothers’ viral TikTok interview.
In the TikTok video, Brothers revealed that he wasn’t a big fan of basketball before becoming a referee and only pursued the profession while studying to become a judge. He expressed how he now holds significant power in his role as a referee, likening himself to being the judge, jury, prosecuting attorney, and defense attorney.

During the postgame press conference, Paul disclosed that he had mocked Brothers over the TikTok interview, expressing his feelings that Brothers had too much authority.
“So Tony, he’s talking to me, I talk back. I called him a ‘TikToker’ and I got a tech. The first one, I just said TikToker. The second one I said he has too much power and he gave me another tech…he’s the judge, the jury and all that.”
Clearly the TikTok jab hit a little too close to home.
